The Harold Minor Page
I was on the Staff of ComDesRon-53 of which Twining and Wedderburn were two of our nine ships. I have three pages of the Maneuvering Board Plot on March 24, 1945 which shows Task Force in Cruising Disposition 5 Roger (special) Axix 010 degrees.
CORRECTION: I have since found out the crewman from the USS Harrison "DID NOT" take them from the Harrison, but had obtained them from the USS Harrison Reunion Association while at their reunion. A Cushing crewman sent them to me and said that was the way they came to have them.
I was aboard Colahan DD-658, Halsey Powell DD-686 and Cushing DD-797. I picked up Colahan on Dec. 12, 1943 and we went non-stop until I left the Cushing in Tokyo Bay on Sept. 11, 1945 for the States. The Navy was nice enough to throw in the 3/2 beer on MogMog Island. I tell everyone that we had a good run, we made it back.
